Ekiti Football League: Moyero  FC whip Ojurobe FC in  7-goal thriller

Soccer followers in Ogotun Ekiti were treated to an explosive match day two encounter at the ongoing Bet9ja Ekiti football league as Moyero FC locked horned with Ojurobe FC.

Having previously drawn Moyero FC bye on matchday one all eyes were on the Ogotun High School for the Group A fixture owing to the fact that Ojorobe FC had secured a draw on the road in their first match.

The match which attracted the presence of the Ekiti State FA chairman Bayo Lanlege bursted into life right from the blast of the referee’s whistle as the visitors scored two quick fire goals inside the opening 16 minutes before the home team responded to reduce the deficits only for the rampaging Moyero FC to reclaim the two goal advantage after man-of-the match Sunday Nwodu went solo for the third goal to make it 1-3 going into the break.

On resumption in the second half the home side got their acts together with loads of support from their fans and it paid off as they drew level within five minutes as  it look like the away team momentarily lost concentration but parity was restored with about ten minutes left when Temiloluwa Emmanuel got his brace through a screamer which left the home team and their teeming supporters dumbfounded as the match ended 3-4 in favour of Moyero FC.

Speaking after the match the Technical Adviser of Moyero FC Bobola Akinfolarin lauded the organizers for creating the platform while commending the Chairman of the club Lanre Moyero for equally allowing the club to participate in the competition which he said will help bring out the best in his boys.

“I want to commend the organizers of this competition for creating an opportunity for teams to display the various talents available at their disposal while i equally want to thank our Chairman Mr Lanre Moyero for providing the necessary logistics to participate in this competition which will go a long way in helping some of our players that will be traveling overseas soon.”

With the result Moyero FC shoots to the top of group A log with just a match while the other matches in the group have ended in draws.

Moyero FC will now battle Ikere United in a derby slated Saturday morning at the Eleyo High School pitch in Ikere Ekiti.
