By Victor Akinkuolie, Ado-Ekiti

Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing affordable residential and commercial buildings to boost business and industrial development in the state.

Speaking at the commissioning of a 26-apartment neighborhood shopping complex built by the Ekiti State Housing Corporation in Ado-Ekiti on Monday, Oyebanji, represented by Deputy Governor Chief (Mrs.) Monisade Afuye, emphasized the importance of affordable housing for investors. He described it as a crucial element of Ekiti’s economic strategy.

He praised the Housing Corporation for executing the project in line with his vision of transforming Ekiti into an economically developed state.

The governor noted that his administration has implemented various legal, policy, and infrastructure interventions to attract investment, including providing billions of naira in credit facilities to support small businesses and MSMEs.

“This shopping complex is more than just a structure; it symbolizes our vision for a modern, prosperous, and vibrant state. It will serve as a platform for entrepreneurs, artisans, and small business owners to showcase their products and services, creating jobs and stimulating economic growth,” he said.

Oyebanji highlighted the government’s efforts to enhance business security, ensuring a safe environment for investment. He also pointed out that the administration’s achievements stem from its six-pillar development agenda, aligned with the 30-year Ekiti Development Plan and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

He urged business owners to take responsibility for maintaining the shopping complex and encouraged residents to support local businesses for the state’s economic growth.

Special Adviser on Housing and Mortgage Development, Dr. Gboyega Oloniyo, stated that the facility would boost job creation and industrial growth, contributing to Ekiti’s revenue.
