Ekiti guber primary: Police sue for peace, deploy more officers

Ahead of Wednesday and Thursday governorship primary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, the Nigeria Police, Ekiti State Command, has disclosed plan to maintain serene atmosphere, free, fair and credible exercise.
The Ekiti police command in a release signed by the Public Relation Officer on behalf of the Commissioner, Mr Tunde Mobayo, said the command has deployed adequate personnel to all voting centres and other relevant places across the state.
The Commissioner in the release also confirms the incredible approval and deployment of additional manpower for the exercise from the Force Headquarters, Abuja, to complement and support the personnel on ground.
While giving the assurance of adequate security before, during and after the elections, the Commissioner charges the personnel deployed to be professional and avoid all forms of corrupt practices while discharging their duties.
The Commissioner warns against all form of electoral malpractices and violence throughout the period of the exercise, also tasked all the stakeholders, party leaders, members and Stewart as well as other members of the public to maintain peace and conduct themselves in accordance with the electoral guidelines and principles.
