As part of activities marking Ekiti State Governor’s 3rd anniversary in office, accounting officers in Ministries, Department and Agencies in the State Public Service led by the State Head of Service , Dr Folakemi Olomojobi have embarked on an inspection tour of some newly completed and ongoing projects in the state

The project inspection tour, which was at the instance of Governor Biodun Oyebanji was attended by Permanent Secretaries, General Managers and Executive Secretaries of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in the State Public Service.

Speaking during the tour, the Head of Service, Dr Folakemi Olomojobi explained that the exercise is part of the stewardship drive and accountability series of the present administration, aimed at assessing government’s performance in delivering services to the people .

She expressed satisfaction with the quality of work on projects inspected during the tour , noting that all inspected projects have met expectations

Projects inspected by the team included the newly completed 21.6 Km-Ilawe-Ikere road, the 19km- Ikere-Igbara-Odo road , the 19.8 km Ado-Iworoko -Ifaki road , the newly completed 17.8km Ado-Ekiti Ring road project and the 12.4km Igbara-Odo Ikogosi road projects as well as the 9.2 km Oke Oro-Ipoti- Ilukuno road

Others are the newly renovated and reequipped Ilawe General Hospital, and the renovated blocks of classrooms and newly established ICT Centre at Corpus Christi College, Ilawe-Ekiti; the Renewed Hope Farm dormitory located at the newly established 409-hectare farm settlement at Ikere-Ekiti; and the Ekiti State International Agro Allied Cargo Airport which recently received approval to commence scheduled flight operations from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

“Mr governor has encouraged us to go and evaluate what we have been doing in the past three years. It is a form of stewardship drive and we are looking around the state to see how well we have done in terms of services for our people and I am here with my team made up of all the accounting officers in the state and I must confess it has been a very revealing and satisfying tour.

“We have seen not less than four road projects that are being constructed under this administration.

“We have visited hospitals and we have seen the transformation at the General Hospital at Ilawe .

“I used to superintend over that hospital and I could almost not recognise it because of the massive transformation it had undergone. It is an amazing one”, Olomojobi stated.

“’We were also at the Ekiti International Agro Allied International Airport, we clearly saw that this is not just international standards, it is one of the best. For an airport located here in Ekiti State, we can see that it is beating all the airports around us ,so we are really very thankful and grateful .

“We are proud to be on the team of Mr governor. He is not just working the talk, he is is raising the Bar . We appreciate the quality of work being done .We appreciate the team spirit’’, she stressed.

Dr Olomojobi commended the accounting officers for their collaborative efforts, which have ensured the prompt management and discharge of their duties.

She encouraged them to emulate the governor’s exemplary leadership style by maintaining open communication about their activities and fostering a spirit of teamwork, rather than working in isolation.

In their remarks, some of the accounting officers expressed joy that the projects they had conceived and secured approval for in their various MDAs had finally come to fruition.
