Ekiti NSCDC intercepts vehicle loaded with stolen goats

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Ekiti State command, has confirmed that its operatives have intercepted a vehicle loaded with stolen goats.

According to the Public Relations Officer, Mr. Tolulope Afolabi, the Counter-Terrorism squad attached to the command intercepted the vehicle along Ekiti State University, EKSU, Ado-Ekiti, while on a surveillance operation in the area.

He explained that the operatives who were in the area on the fateful day, intercepted a Toyota Camry car full of goats, suspected to have been stolen from different locations within the state.

The NSCDC spokesman, said two other suspects were arrested while a car with  number plate LAGOS LSR 84 AY, was recovered along EKSU Road.

“The driver of the vehicle on sighting the operatives of the Counter Terrorism Unit of the command and in the process abandoned the car and ran away with other occupants.

The suspected stolen goats numbering about 30 were concealed inside the car with gags in their mouths to disallow them from bleating.

The command called on farmers in the state to visit the Counter-Terrorism Unit (CTU) base of NSCDC along Afao Road, to identify their goats and as well as give useful  information to the command on how to apprehend the culprits.
