Ekiti NSCDC parades three robbery suspects, others

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ekiti State Command, have paraded three suspects in connection with a robbery incident in Oke-Ila area of Ado-Ekiti, capital of Ekiti State.

The command also paraded nine other persons in connection with various crimes ranging from illicit drug peddling, burglary to cyber crime.

Parading the suspects at the office of the command located along Ikere road, Ado-Ekiti, the Commandant, Mr. Sunday Agboola, said the suspects were apprehended by men of the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), attached to the command at different locations within Ado-Ekiti metropolis.

He explained that they were arrested for various offences ranging from armed robbery, illicit drug usage and peddling, burglary, stealing, conspiracy as well as cyber crimes.

He identified the prime suspect as Adesoji Victor, aged 19 and three others who were apprehended during a foiled robbery attempt at a popular supermarket along Oke-Ila axis of Ado-Ekiti.

He added that the operatives of the CTU neutralized the suspects and recovered one locally made barrel cut to size gun, other dangerous weapons and a registered motorcycle from the suspects.

Others paraded by the Command included, Samuel Micheal, 25; Adebayo Lateef, 29; Opeyemi Adelusi, 24; Daramola Ariyo, 26 and Wasiu Ariyo aged 29.

He disclosed that they were arrested along Omisanjana axis of Ado-Ekiti and were in possession of illicit drugs such as cannabis sativa in large quantity, phones and cyber crimes materials.

The Commandant also said that one 20-year-old Ayodele Ayomide and Oladapo Agbe were arrested along Oke Ila, in Ado Ekiti, after they successfully broke into a church and stole a heavy duty generator belonging to the church.

He added that the suspects would be arraigned in a competent Court of jurisdiction as soon as investigation is concluded on the matter.
