Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the March 9 State House of Assembly election in Ekiti State, Ojo-Ade Fajana, has debunked the rumour that he will boycott the election .
Fajana who is a serving member of the 5th Assembly, representing Ekiti East Constituency I, said he was fully on ground for the election. He said “it is far from the truth the rumour making rounds, especially on the social media, that Ekiti PDP candidates have withdrawn from the race for lack of confidence in the electoral institution, INEC.
The Lawmaker disclosed this during a telephone interview in Ado Ekiti, over the weekend.
The lawmaker said; “Why should I boycott the election? I have no reason to do so.
I am strongly in the race, I am the leading candidate in the race, my constituents are ready to vote for me again and defend their votes. I have touched many lives within the shortest period of my stay in the hallowed chamber. I have sponsored bills that have direct and positive impacts on the people and on our legislative system.”
Ojo-Ade however expressed optimism that his people will vote for him and that his re-election would be secured based on his outstanding performance and quality representation as a lawmaker in his first term, he stated.
He however called on the people of his constituency not to be distracted about the rumour, urging them to come out enmass and vote for the candidate of their choice. He promised that he would continue to impact their lives if reelected.
