The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested a 21-year old man, Victor Lorjaal, for allegedly killing his mother and elder sister on a farm in Itaji-Ekiti.

Weekend Hope gathered that the incident, occurred on March 25, 2025, at about 7:10 am, reportedly took place at Aba Ile Camp, where the suspect attacked his mother, Victoria Lorjaal, and sister, Brenda Lorjaal, with a machete.

An eyewitness, who is also a sibling of the suspect, recounted that while working on the farm, Victor suddenly left his side and approached their mother and sister, who were working at a distance. Moments later, he heard their mother screaming for help.

By the time he arrived at the scene, the suspect had already fled, leaving his mother and sister in a pool of blood with fatal machete wounds.

Police operatives visited the crime scene, gathered evidence, and evacuated the bodies to the General Hospital in Ayede.

The State Commissioner of Police, Joseph Eribo, has ordered a thorough investigation into the incident while extending condolences to the bereaved family.

The police confirmed that the suspect would be charged to court upon the completion of the investigation.
