Members of the Poultry Farmers Association of Nigeria (PFAN), Ekiti State chapter, have lauded Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, for his various developmental initiatives aimed at supporting farmers in the state.
Their commendation came as the governor reaffirmed his administration’s continued commitment to the growth of poultry farming in Ekiti.
Speaking at the 2025 World Egg Day celebration held in Ado-Ekiti on Friday, Governor Oyebanji, represented by the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Mr Ebenezer Boluwade, praised PFAN members for their lawful business practices and their significant contributions to the state’s economy. He assured them of sustained government support to enhance productivity across the agricultural sector.
The governor congratulated the association on the successful celebration of World Egg Day, with the theme, “The Mighty Egg: Packed With Natural Nutrition”, and noted that his administration was working to create a more conducive environment for agricultural businesses and inclusive growth across the state.
Chairman of Poultry Farmers Association of Nigeria PFAN in Ekiti, Comrade Alonge Oluwasetemi, expressed gratitude to the governor and the Commissioner for their unwavering support, stating that government interventions had helped poultry businesses expand and become more stable.
He said such support was the first of its kind in the association’s history and had made a substantial difference.
Oluwasetemi also used the occasion to endorse Governor Oyebanji for a second term in office, citing what he described as “sterling performance” across all sectors in the past three years. He noted that the governor’s achievements in infrastructure, leadership, and direct support to farmers had surpassed expectations.
According to the PFAN Chairman, the association had recorded notable progress under Oyebanji’s administration, and its members remained solidly behind him.
He urged fellow members to continue being good ambassadors of the farming community and support the governor’s vision of shared prosperity for the people of Ekiti State.
Other stakeholders at the event included the Chairman of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Ekiti State, Mr Ademola Alagbada; Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Rehabilitation and Mental Health, Mrs Funmilayo; Chairman of the Veterinary Association of Nigeria, Dr Ojo and a representative from the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs Afuye Modupe.
The highlight of the celebration was the donation of hundreds of crates of eggs by the Poultry Farmers Association to the three government special schools in Ekiti State, further reinforcing the association’s commitment to nutrition and social welfare in the state.
