Ekiti surveyors hold journalists to draw in novelty match

By Victor Akinkuolie, Ado-Ekiti

As part of the activities marking the annual week of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (NIS), surveyors and members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ekiti State Council, faced off in a novelty match at the field of Christ School, Ado-Ekiti.

Declaring the match open, the Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors, Ekiti State Branch, Afolayan Samuel Sunday, appreciated the NUJ for accepting their proposal for the novelty match, adding that it aimed to foster unity with other professionals in the state.

The friendly encounter kicked off with impressive plays by both teams, though neither managed to score in the first half.

The NUJ team, however, took the initiative by scoring the first goal in the second half. The surveyors fought back with an equalising goal, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

Both teams were awarded medals at the end of the novelty match.
