While making his opening remarks, the Director General of Ondo State Contributory Health Commission, Dr. Abiodun Oyenehin explained that the state could make giant strides visible in the scheme due to the Ondo state government’s faithfulness in paying the counterpart fund of 60 per cent per each civil servant.

He stated that the state was not owing any health facility as it pays as at when due.
Oyenehin informed the contingent that the commission is fully established with the formal sector and is planning to include other sectors as the scheme expands.

He appreciated the Ekiti state contingent for their visit while describing them as a supportive ally and worthy partner. He expressed that the meeting would be mutually beneficial for both states.

He said that the commission had visited other states too with a view of having a regional reintegration of the scheme.

Giving an overview during the meeting, an official of the commission, Pharm. Ebikeeyen Ofiyesinka said that a total of 93, 865 people have been registered for the scheme while 56 health care providers have been accredited for the same.
