Ekiti warns job seekers about fake TESCOM recruitment portals

…We haven’t concluded the procedure to advertise teaching job vacancies – Govt

By Precious Owolabi, Ado-Ekiti

The Ekiti State Government has dissociated itself from purported TESCOM recruitment portals allegedly created by fraudsters to scam prospective job seekers.

Governor Biodun Oyebanji recently approved the recruitment of 1,800 teaching and non-teaching staff into public schools across the state through the State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM).

However, the Commissioner for Information, Taiwo Olatunbosun, stated on a radio programme on Thursday that the state government “is yet to conclude the administrative procedure to advertise the vacancies and has therefore not opened any portal for the recruitment exercise.”

Olatunbosun said, **“Any portal currently open for recruitment is fake and intended to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.

“The state government has approved media channels for such information and will continue to use them for all public communications.”**

He urged members of the public, especially intending applicants, to disregard any information or website in circulation that does not originate from TESCOM to avoid falling victim to fraudsters.

Olatunbosun assured that the state government would remain vigilant in protecting the welfare of its citizens, stressing that its priority is the rapid development of the state and the overall wellbeing of residents.

He said, “The Oyebanji administration has adopted a holistic approach to achieving sustainable development, with a focus on solutions that benefit the entire system.”

Olatunbosun also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to employing qualified individuals in the public service to enhance efficiency and ensure the effective implementation of policies in the public interest.

He added that the present administration was also making the business environment more conducive, particularly for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and agriculture, to thrive in the state.
