Election results reflect people’s choice – Culture Commissioner

The Ondo State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism has commended the people of Akoko North West Local Government Area for turning out in large numbers to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate and Governor of the state, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, in the just concluded governorship election.

According to him, the outcome of the election was a clear reflection of the people’s choice and their unwavering confidence in the governor’s outstanding leadership over the past ten months in office.

The Commissioner particularly praised the electorate for their peaceful conduct before, during, and after the all-important governorship poll.

He also applauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the security agencies, and all election stakeholders for ensuring a seamless process and creating a fair and conducive atmosphere where voters could cast their votes without any form of intimidation or harassment.

Badmus described the election as the most peaceful, free, fair, and credible poll conducted by INEC in recent years. He noted that the general atmosphere in his Eshe-Afin Unit 6, Ward 9, in Akoko North West Local Government Area, as well as across the entire state, was encouraging and calm.

“In that election, in Unit 6, APC secured 146 votes, while PDP obtained 50 votes. In that ward, APC garnered 1,278 votes, while PDP scored 565 votes,” he said.

The Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the election’s outcome, stating that the people of the state can now look forward to enjoying more dividends of good governance under the visionary leadership of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

“We thank our people for appreciating the good work our Governor is doing to rebuild the state for the benefit of all,” Badmus added.

He highlighted the Governor’s achievements in areas such as infrastructure development, improved security, quality education, youth employment, various grants and loan facilities for artisans, women’s empowerment, the prompt payment of workers’ salaries and bonuses, and other critical sectors of the economy.
