Elections: Ondo INEC recruits 12,028 ad-hoc staff

The Independent National Electoral Commission in Ondo State is set to recruit 12,028 ad-hoc staff for the coming general elections.
The categories of officers to be recruited for the polls include 203 ward collation officers, 301 supervisors and three senatorial district returning officers.
Others are nine federal constituencies’ returning officers, one state collation officer to collate presidential election results and other officers like technical officers.
A reliable source at the state INEC office further informed that Assistant Presiding Officer I,II,III with a presiding officer manning a polling unit will be recruited
The source disclosed that some officers were already undergoing training, while others will commence training soon.
It added that security officers will be trained by security organisations ahead of the elections.
According to the source, the total number of registered voters as at the last Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) on August 31 , 2018 stood at 1,828,219.
The source added that the commission will work on the data which will bring changes in the present number of registered voters.
It was gathered that 456517 PVCs are yet to be collected by residents of the state.
