Ember months: Ekiti NSCDC assures tight security

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Ekiti State Command has assured the people of adequate protection of all critical national asset and infrastructure during the ember months.
The NSCDC Commandant in the state, Mr. Solomon Iyamu, warned criminals and vandals to stay away from destroying national asset for the purpose of making quick money.
The command promised the state a crime free ember months, calling on the people to always inform the command of any activities of vandals and criminals residing in their villages, towns and settlements.
Iyamu, explained that ember months are not different from any other months in the year except the increase in the socio-economic activities that often trigger vandalization, robbery, stealing, maiming and other social challenges.
He promised that electrical installations will be adequately protected. assuring that 132/133KVA station in the state capital has been mapped out with our radar system and surveillance has been placed to forestall vandalization”
Iyamu, also called on the residents to clear their drainages and river channels to protect their homes against flooding as it has been predicted by NIMET that Ekiti State may witness flooding this month and the need to stop construction of houses, shops on water ways and river banks so that flooding will not occur and affect the environment.
