Embrace positive behavioural change, NOA urges corps nembers

By Michael Ofulue, Osogbo

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has called on members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to imbibe positive behavioural change and uphold national values during their service year.

This call was made by the Osun State Director of the Agency, Mr. Stephen Adebiyi, while delivering a lecture on the National Values Charter (NVC) at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Ede, Osun State.

Adebiyi emphasised the importance of internalising the tenets and ethos of the NVC, describing it as a cornerstone of responsible citizenship.

According to him, the NVC is a strategic tool aimed at fostering national cohesion and progress through a shared sense of responsibility and commitment between the government and its citizens.

He urged corps members to use their one-year mandatory national service as an opportunity to promote unity, uphold national values, and contribute meaningfully to the development of their host communities.

The NOA director also appealed to NYSC officials at the orientation camp to ensure the well-being and safety of corps members throughout their service year.

Additionally, he called on community members in the various host locations to be welcoming and supportive, ensuring the corps members have a memorable and impactful experience.
