Embrace sports for self development, Olowo charges youths

The Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III has charged youths in the country to shun cultism, internet fraud and all other criminal activities as the end result could lead to dangerous consequences.
Oba Ogunoye counselled youths to embrace sports for them to attain enviable heights.
The Olowo spoke while declaring open the maiden edition of the Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III Football Competition for secondary schools in Owo Local Government area of the state.
According to the monarch, sports generally, aside football, are now money spinners apart from the fame and height those who are into them can attain.
Oba Ogunoye particularly enjoined Owo youths to do away with cultism and those who might have found themselves in the bad group to renounce their membership as their involvement could always lead to untimely death resulting from rivalry.
Speaking on the competition, Oba Ogunoye said it is part of his promise to develop the Kingdom and also take youths from the streets.
The Olowo said with time, the competition would become a breeding ground for national and international football super stars.
The competition which kicked off on Wednesday saw Imade College, Owo trouncing Amunye C.A.C. Grammar School, Owo, by two goals to one in the opening game played at the Owo Community Stadium, Okeogun Owo.
