The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Remi Tinubu, has called for collective action from individuals, communities and institutions to help the girl-child realise her full potential.
In her message commemorating the 2025 International Day of the Girl Child, themed “The Girl I Am, The Change I Lead: Girls on the Frontlines of Crisis,” Senator Tinubu emphasised that empowering girls is a shared responsibility that requires unity and sustained commitment.
She noted that many girls around the world face significant challenges, including limited access to education, displacement and poverty, yet continue to demonstrate remarkable resilience.
“To every brave girl, striving to reach the classroom, walking miles for water, or carrying the quiet strength of displacement, you are seen, you are heard and valued. Your courage lights the way to a brighter future,” she stated.
Reiterating her message of solidarity, the First Lady appealed to Nigerians and the global community to work together to remove barriers hindering girls’ growth and empowerment.
“Let us come together to support our girls to reach their maximum potential,” she said.
Senator Tinubu concluded by celebrating the courage and promise of girls worldwide, wishing them a happy International Day of the Girl Child 2025.
