‘Emulate Christ’s virtues’

Christians have been charged not to allow the crucifixion of Jesus Christ to be in vain by emulating and practicing his virtues in all their dealings.

Evangelist Abiola Olaniyi of the Ark of Grace Evangelical Church gave the charge in his sermon at the July edition of the prayer meeting of the Ondo State Christian Welfare Board.

He said: “This will make the Saviour not to regret surrendering his life as a sacrificial lamb for mankind,” he stressed.

He said anybody who is crucified with Jesus Christ will not be involved in anything that has the colouration of sin and will not hold the blessings of God onto himself alone.

“We are the scriptures that people are reading. If you are blessed and you believe that the blessing of God is for you alone, you are not crucified. Every christian is supposed to be a charged person. Truth is truth, a ‘crucified’ Pastor should preach the truth

He advised clergymen who engage in diabolical means in building their churches to desist as it does not portray them as good ambassadors of the faith.

Earlier, the Chairman of Ondo state Christian Welfare Board, Rev. R. O. Agboola enjoined the workers to always live by example in all their dealings and make God first.

Highlight of the meeting was prayers for state governor, the government and Nigeria.
