By Saheed Ibrahim

Muslims have been enjoined to always engage in good deeds and think of the hereafter while on earth.
This admonition was made last Friday at the 8th day Fidau prayer of the demised Commissioner for Health in Ondo State, Dr Wahab Adegbenro, who died last week
The Chief Imam of Akure Kingdom, Sheik Abdulakeem Akorede and the Chief Imam of Ansarudeen, Akure, Imam Mukail Modupeoluwa, who delivered lectures at the event, enjoined Muslims to emulate the life of the late commissioner, who used all his giving to better the lives of people.
In his sermon, the Chief Imam of Akure Kingdom, Sheik Akorede said, “Adegbenro has left and one day, we all will leave this world as well. This is a lesson to all of us to do good and change from our bad ways
” Adegbenro never took religion for granted. He was always observing his prayer, despite his busy schedule. Everything we have in this world, when you dont worship God, you have nothing.
He enjoined his family.members to hold on to Allah and emulate the religious life of the late medical guru
In his own lecture, Imam Modupeoluwa described late Adegbenro as someone likened to Abraham, who stood with Allah all through his days and always gave thanks to Him irrespective of the situation he found himself.
“He served God with all he had, he never worshiped any other deity aside Almighty Allah.” Allah has no need for our beauty and money, our intentions and minds are what He is after.
He tasked everyone present to always remember the day they will be buried, saying Adegbenro was not after the worldly things, he was after the hereafter, hence, he touched the lives of everyone positively.
The representative of Ondo State Government and Special Adviser to the Governor on Transport, Bar Tobi Ogunleye said the late commissioner was pivotal to the success of Akeredolu’s administration, this informed why the national flags were lowered half mast across the state and a public holiday was declared in his honour.
He disclosed that the government had not found a formidable replacement for the lacuna Dr Crown left behind.
He however noted that the government will not abandon his family, adding that plans had been made to sustain the family he left behind.
Speaking on behalf of the family, the brother of the deceased, Mr Omololu Adegbenro said late Adegbenro died a hero, who lived his life to cater for the masses.
He described the loss of *Brother Ropo* as unfortunate and a great loss to the family.
He appreciated the clerics and everyone who found time to grace the occasion.
