Encomiums as Dokun Ladele bows out of service

The Management and Staff of Radio Nigeria (Positive 102.5 FM Akure) have eulogised  and celebrated their former Deputy Director of News and Current Affairs, Mr. Dokun Ladele who retired from service with a call on those in service to embrace innovations and exhibit humility for them to excel.

A significant send-off/get-together was organized by the News Department of the Radio station to celebrate 35 years of meritorious service of the celebrant.

The event held at the NUJ Press Centre, Alagbaka Akure on Monday, was packed with mentees, journalists, and family, who took turns to eulogize the celebrant fondly called “DOKLAD”

In her welcome address, the Head of the News Unit of the station, Dupe Isename said the event was put in place to celebrate the retirement of Ladele who left them 10 years ago and to appreciate him for his unmatched  legacies laid down during his time as the Deputy Director of News in the station

Isename commended the resilience and doggedness of the retiree which had helped some of the members of staff who came across him to attain the peak of their careers.

Isename who lauded the celebrant’s contribution to the development of the News Department of Positive FM reiterated that his leadership style has been a thing to be remembered

In her remark, the General Manager, Positive FM Akure Mrs. Olubunmi Olalere described the celebrant as a hardworking disciplinarian, diligent, and a resourceful man who was cherished by all.

Olalere said the celebrant had exhibited total commitment, hard work, and determination to serve hence the need for other staff to emulate his good attributes.

“Mr Ladele is a family man that is dedicated to his duties. He is a friend to everyone that comes his way, and he does not like stepping on toes. He is a man who wants to make peace. even when he notices that someone is angry with him, he will still call to ask you.”

On his part, the Chairman,  Ondo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Prince Leke Adegbite who is one of the mentees of the celebrant described him as a goal-getter who always encourages his subordinates to get any task given to them done.
