It was both a moment to rejoice and a moment to say good bye on Friday February 3, when friends and family members converged at the Christ Anglican Church, Isalu, Idanre, Ondo State to bid Late Mrs. Phebean Aribigbola, mother of Professor Afolabi Aribigbola, farewell.
In his sermon at the funeral, Venerable Amure Solomon Idowu noted that the deceased lived a god-fearing and worthy Christian life and admonished the congregation to emulate her exemplary life, noting that everybody would give an account of his or her life before God.
In his tribute, Professor Afolabi Aribigbola, son of the deceased, praised his late mother whom he described as a hardworking woman who provided for her family and everybody around her.
He said, “your calling on us to remind us of church service and family prayer meetings continues to ring a bell in my ears and makes you unforgetable in my life and family.
“All in all, what can we say than to thank and appreciate God for the very impactful life that you lived? We will greatly miss you but we take solace in the fact that you are resting in the bosom of the Lord. Adieu, my mother,” he added.
Similarly, Mrs. Caroline Akingbesote, daughter of the deceased, described her as a beautiful woman and an epitome of hardwork who instilled diligence in her children.
She added, “We will miss our encyclopedia who always comes to our aid whenever we need to confirm a date. Sleep on, abiyamo tooto.”
Eminent personalities drawn from the academia, business community and public service of Ondo State attended the event.
