No fewer than 25 offenders were arrested and prosecuted during the January edition of the monthly environmental sanitation exercise in Ekiti State.

They were sentenced to one month of community service with an option of a fine.

In her ruling, Magistrate Olubunmi Bamidele noted that the offenders violated the state’s environmental sanitation guidelines.

She emphasized that such negligence posed a serious threat to public health and environmental safety.

The magistrate stressed the importance of adhering to sanitation laws to prevent the spread of diseases and to promote a healthier environment.
