Former Commissioner in Ondo State, Prince Solagbade Amodeni, has said until the fight against election malpractice begins from the top to the lower level then the country can have electoral system of international standard.

The two times commissioner in an interview with The Hope explained that effort must be taken in fighting against this menace from federal to the state levels.

“Concerning fight against election malpractice in Nigeria ,it has to start from the top .That is from the president to the governor .A lot of things are marred with corruption

“Untill it is treated from the top then we can have the solution. It has to trickle down to the ward level.

“The president must have concerted effort to tackle election corruption.” he stated.

Ondo guber: 74 de-registered parties collapse structures for Aiyedatiwa

Ahead of the November 2024 governorship election in Ondo State, 74 political parties, under the aegis of Conference of De-Registered Political Parties in Nigeria (CDPPN), have collapsed their organizational structures for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The CDPPN is a composition of political parties that were de-registered by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

At a meeting with the governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, in Akure , the group, led by an APC stalwart, Prof. William Olu-Aderounmu, said the governor exhibits the necessary administrative and political qualities required to take the state to the next level of development.

Aderounmu cited the ongoing projects across the state as the reason the CDPPN came to declare support for the governor, whom he described as “cerebral, amiable and focused”

In his address, State Coordinator of CDPPN, Rotimi Akindejoye, lauded the governor for his stellar performance and leadership style.

“We are de-registered but not tired” Akindejoye said, as he disclosed that their organization has structures that are willing to work for the governor across the 203 wards in the  State.

Representative of People Living with Disabilities, Elegbeleye Sanmi, appreciated the governor for including their members in every programme and project of the state government.

Reacting, the governor, who was represented by his deputy, Olayide Adelami, assured that the CDPPN will be integrated in the APC structure at all levels. He said the party “will keep welcoming everyone willing to join the progressives for a greater Nigeria.”
