Goodwill messages have continued to pour in for elder statesman and Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, who clocked 99 over the weekend.

In a statement personally signed by the Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, he described Pa Fasoranti as a committed, patriotic, honest, consistent and contented patriot whose trajectory remains a lesson to younger generations.

Aiyedatiwa stated that the history of Ondo State and Nigeria at large would not be complete without mentioning the invaluable contributions of the nonagenarian who has demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities.

He said, “for 99 years, Pa Fasoranti has seen it all. He has lived a distinguished life that anyone who cares about good name must follow. He has lived a purposeful life while placing his hard earned integrity at the forefront of everything he does.”

Chairman of Akure South Local Government area, Dr Gbenga Fasua, also rejoiced with the Akure-born political icon as he approached the centenary age, wishing him sound health and vitality in the years ahead.

Immediate past Ondo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Amidu Takuro, hailed Pa Fasoranti for his principled nature in standing with justice, rights claims, fairness, progressive thoughts and the truth at all times.

While wishing the birthday celebrant good health and sound mind, Takuro stressed that his contributions to the development of the state and Nigeria cannot be quantified.

US-based medical practitioner, Dr Charles Marindoti Oludare described Pa Fasoranti as a living testament to the strength and resilience of Yoruba heritage, saying, “As a blessing from beyond our moral conscience and the north star of our rich Yoruba heritage, Pa R. F. Fasoranti stands as a beacon of wisdom, dignity, and unwavering commitment to the values that bind us together as a people.

“May the blessings of Pa Fasoranti continue to live with us all, guiding us towards a future rooted in wisdom, unity and pride.”
