An Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court, has sentenced a 29-year-old ex-convict, Wale Adegboro, to one year imprisonment for stealing.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Bankole Oluwasanmi, sentenced the convict, following his guilty plea, and based on facts of the case.
Police prosecutor, Akinwale Oriyomi, had told the court that Adegboro committed the offence on November 20, 2022 about 6:50 pm at Rose Bud Oke- Ila Street in Ado-Ekiti.
Akinwale said the convict stole some items which included; Red colour Bajaj motorcycle with ignition key valued at N550,000; N10,000 cash; small itel phone valued at N15,000; one Nicker valued N3,000, belonging to one Opeyemi Egunjobi.
“The complainant, Egunjobi knew the convict, Adegboro. The convict demanded some money from him to eat, and he took him to his house, he said.
He said Egunjobi went inside to have his bath, and before he came back, the convict had stolen his properties, and disappeared into thin air.
Oriyomi added that the convict confessed to the crime. But he sold he had sold all the stolen items.
According to the Prosecutor, the offence contravene Section 295 and punishable under Section 302(1) (A) of the Criminal Law Vol.1 Laws of Ekiti State 2021.
