Ex-NUJ Deputy President, Obamuagun becomes Olumoru-elect
Former Deputy National President of Nigerian Union of Journalists, Prince Rotimi Obamuwagun has been selected as the new Olumoru-elect of Ose Local government area of Ondo State.
Prince Obamuwagun polled three out of five votes by the Kingmakers.
Prince Kole Olowojoba came second with two votes while other candidates, Prince Charles Olotu, Prince Akin Oluwafemi, Prince Oriade Adejare Oshodi, and Prince Ade Okiki scored no vote.
Meanwhile, the NUJ Ondo state council has congratulated the veteran journalist for his election as the new Olumoru-elect.
In a Press Statement signed by the State Secretary of NUJ, Leke Adegbite, the union noted that “the emergence of our former leader as the monarch will enhance rapid development of the town.”
Ondo NUJ also believes that Prince Obamuwagun will use his connections and his many years in journalism practice to facilitate investments and general peaceful coexistence at Imoru.
The union appealed to other contestants who lost out in the race to join hands with the Olumoru-elect to move the town forward after several years of interregnum.
“It is our prayer in NUJ and media industry generally that Prince Obamuwagun will live long on the throne than his forefathers,” the union said.
