In a move to promote grassroots development and enhance educational opportunities, Mrs Kehinde Adeniran, a former Senior Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Women Affairs, has distributed around 700 exercise books, along with pens and pencils, to pupils of The Apostolic Primary School, Ido-Ani, in Ọsẹ Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Addressing parents, pupils, and staff of the school on Wednesday, Adeniran, who is also the State APC women leader popularly known as Mama Kk, stated that the initiative was in honour of her late mother, Mrs Jolade Famodimu, who passed away 37 years ago.

While expressing her deep emotional connection to Ido-Ani, said: “Those who know me know that I love children and I don’t take anything that has to do with women lightly. I did this to show appreciation to my mother who died 37 years ago for the upbringing she gave me.

“We did something like this for some secondary schools in Ireakari sometime ago. This is not the only one we are going to do here. We are coming back here next month for the inter-house sports and I am sponsoring a house in honour of my late mother, Mrs Jolade Famodimu.”

She further assured that the initiative would be a yearly event and pledged to adopt two pupils from the school.

Mrs Shade Arise, Chairman of the Ondo State Agency for the Welfare of Persons with Disability, commended Adeniran for her inclusive approach and announced her decision to adopt a pupil from the school.

Similarly, Foluke Abayomi pledged to adopt and sponsor a female pupil up to university level, emphasising her commitment to alleviating the struggles of underprivileged children.
