Excitement as Pride of Zion Nursery & Primary School pupils visit Idanre hills on excursion

The pupils of Pride of Zion Nursery & Primary School, Ilekun, Oda Road, Akure, had a fun-filled and worthwhile experience on Thursday as the management of the new citadel of learning took them on excursion tour of the popular Oke Idanre (Idanre Hills) in the ancient town of Idanre in Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Some of the pupils who were in high spirits to visit the hills described their experience as memorable, adding that they would love to be there again and again.
Pride of Zion Nursery & Primary School is strategically located in a serene environment opposite Old Oba’s Palace, Ilekun, Oda Road, with arrays of competent and qualified teachers who are ready to always instill good morals and values in the school children.
Those in charge of the hills took their time to conduct the team round the various strategic points on the mountains with their significance.
The school which began operation on September 18, 2023, is fast becoming the toast of many parents as the management places premium on quality education and sound upbringing of pupils.
The school proprietress who is also a retired General Manager, Ondo State Waste Management Authority, (ODSWMA) Rev (Dr) Ayo Adeyemo, explained that the school applies Montessori approach to teaching and learning in a conducive environment to ensure outstanding results.
She added that the school is out to fully develop young ones in all facets and make them leaders of tomorrow.
“We are highly delighted to be at Oke Idanre with our pupils to see the wonderful works of God that will positively impact on the lives of the pupils. We really benefited and learned so many things from there.
“The people in charge taught and showed us so many things which we have not heard or seen before, and we are all happy. We are happy to see the wonderful works of God on the hills”, the proprietress stressed.
She particularly appreciated the state government through the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, as well as the managers of the mountains for the warm reception accorded the management and staff as well as the school pupils.
The retired bureaucrat equally thanked the parents for their support and cooperation, praying God that they will not labour in vain over their wards.
She thanked the parents for their belief and confidence in the quality education being offered by the school, just as she further assured them of the management’s unwavering commitment to properly nurture the school pupils to stardom.
Dr. Adeyemo equally used the occasion to encourage other lovers of Montessori method of education to enroll their wards in the school for a better future.
The school Senior Boy, Adeleye Daniel and the Senior Girl, Adubidan Tobiloba, who appreciated the beautiful mountains also thanked the school management as well as the Ministry of Culture and Tourism for the memorable excursion.
Another pupil, Liopo Wisdom said, “I feel happy and excited to be here. We saw beautiful mountains, rocks, steps and trees. I want to thank my school for bringing us to this beautiful place”.
