The Robert Ware Event Center in Ondo City came alive with glamour and excitement on December 29, 2024, as members of the Prominence Club of Ondo gathered for their induction ceremony and Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The event, a double celebration, saw members dressed in elegant all-white attire, creating a classy and festive atmosphere.

This momentous occasion not only featured the induction of new members but also provided an opportunity for members to reunite after an extended period apart.

Many had not seen each other in years, making the event a joyful reunion filled with lively discussions and strategic planning for the club’s future development.

Idowu Akinsulire, the pioneer and current president of the club, expressed immense delight at the historic gathering, describing it as first of its kind in the club’s four-year history.

He highlighted the club’s founding in 2020 as a collective of like-minded individuals committed to giving back to the community.

“Over the years, the club has supported the less privileged through initiatives such as providing food items, making donations to orphanages, and distributing branded exercise books to 17 primary schools in Ondo City, aiding students in their academic pursuits.

Akinsulire also lauded the unwavering support and unity of both local and international members in advancing the club’s objectives.

He encouraged other clubs and non-profit organisations in the city to emulate the Prominence Club’s efforts by extending similar assistance to the less privileged.

Dr. Olusola Ambrose Akinniyi, the newly inducted patron of the club, commended its progress, describing the event as a harbinger of a bright future for the association.

He praised the club’s dedication to giving back and noted that the people of Ondo, especially the Ekimogun, have always demonstrated a profound passion for their community.

Dr. Akinniyi urged younger members to seek the wisdom and guidance of elders to propel the club towards greater success, as they are still in the early stages of their journey.

He pledged his unwavering support for the club and encouraged them to continue their remarkable work for the betterment of Ondo City.

The event was graced by notable dignitaries, including Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, and Chief Whole Benson Akinkuolie, who represented the Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, Oba Victor Kiladejo.

Prominent politicians, chiefs, and members of other social clubs also attended, contributing to the event’s vibrancy and overall success.
