Ondo State Commissioner for Environment, Sunday Akinwalere has assured the people of his determination to ensure complete turnaround of the ministry in order to guarantee improved health for residents of the state.
He gave the assurance while addressing staff of the ministry during a reception organised in his honour last Friday in Akure.
According to him, it is a dawn of a new era noting that all aspects of environment especially sanitation will be greatly improved saying “we are ready to set the ball rolling.”
While commending the state governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on his appointment and his various infrastructural development among other initiatives, he applauded the governor for opening another route in Idanre.
He promised to put in his best to achieve the desired vision of the governor for the ministry just as he called for staff cooperation especially in making the state the neatest in Nigeria.
While stressing the importance of team work among them in order to make his tenure a success, he promised to make the ministry comfortable for them.
Speaking briefly with The Hope, Special Adviser to the governor on Environment, Oseni Oyeniyi while expressing appreciation to the governor on his appointment assured of his readiness to bring out the best in the ministry saying “the commissioner and I will work together. We will draw our plan especially in the area of pollution control in the state.
However, he thanked the staff for the reception stating that he way eager to have a good working relationship with them.
The ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Prophet Akin Asaniyan who expressed his joy on the resumption of the commissioner and SA on environment in the ministry, assured the appointees of staff’s unflinching support saying “our unalloyed royalty is indisputable.”
He explained that the ministry has fashioned out its blue print in order to move it forward noting that it will do the needful to make Ondo State lead in terms of neatness in the country.
Asaniyan who stated that environment ministry was sensitive assured that the team will not relent in ensuring that it meets the vision of the governor.
Commending the governor for the procurement of three amphibious escavators for the ministry’s use, he said that efforts were in place to have improved channelisation in the state adding that the ministry has made progress in the area of noise pollution control has it has put in place a task force which according to him has been up and doing.
