Expert calls for agric summit

An Agricultural Expert has called for an agricultural summit to address food scarcity.
A senior lecturer at the Federal College of Agriculture, Dr. Emmanuel MoyinJesu made the call in an interview with The Hope in Akure.
He said Nigeria has neglected agriculture for so long which has resulted to hunger.
He expressed the need for the agricultural summit to involve all the stakeholders, producers, processors, marketers and the consumers to fashion out ways of involving technology for food production.
He said, the state can leverage on so many crops including cassava to achieve food sufficiency.
” We need a summit now at both the federal, state and local government levels and we should include it in the constitutional review being talked about now”
He called on all stakeholders to get a strategic workplan on how the country can move forward and rescue it from the path of collapsing.
