Ondo State government has been urged to explore all tourist centres in the state to improve the revenue generation of the state.
Chairman, Owa’s 45th Coronation Anniversary Committee, Dr. Anthony Omolola made the call while addressing newsmen Idanre.
He advised that if the state government could resuscitate the ‘Mare’ climbing festival and invest in the tourist centres in the rock town, the internally generated revenue of the state would improve as it would attract foreign exchange.
Also, the Oluoke of Okeigbo, Oba Lawrence Babajide said tourist centres remain vital in any nation’s economy development.
He urged the state government to look inward instead of relying solely on the dwindling monthly allocation and develop ‘Igbo Olodumare’ to a tourist centre.
“Development of Igbo Olodumare and other tourist centres in the state would generate income for the state and provide job opportunities to the unemployed.
“It would enhance development and reduce crime in the society.”, he said.
