Fake soldiers in court for impersonation

Two fake soldiers have been arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court over alleged impersonation.
The accused persons are; Gabriel Abolaji, 35 and Samuel Matthew, 20.
The duo committed the offence on August 16, 2020 around 10:00pm at old garage area in Osogbo.
Police prosecutor, Inspector Elisha Olusegu told the court that the accused person committed felony to wit unlawful possession and wearing of complete Nigeria Army uniform.
He further inform the court that the accused person attempted to commit felony to wit robbery.
The offence committed by the accused persons is contrary to and punishable under Sections 516,109,428(d) and 599 of the criminal code Cap 34 Vol ll Law of Osun state 2002.
The duo pleaded not guilty to the allegations slammed against them by the police.
Defence counsel, Bola Abimbola prayed the court to grant the accused persons bail in most liberal and affordable term, promising they will provide reliable sureties and will never jump bail.
In his ruling Magistrate Abayomi Ajala grant the accused person bail in the sum of N100,000 each with one surety in like sum.
He thereby adjourned the case till September 29 for hearing.
