Family of abducted petrol attendant in Ilaje seeks govt, security agencies’ intervention

The family of Mrs Tope Akinbote, a petrol attendant, who was abducted by unknown gunmen on February 9, at her workplace in Ilaje, has called on the Ondo State Government and security agencies to help in securing the release of their daughter from the captivity of her kidnappers.
The head of the family, Mr. Billy Owobo Ogungbamila, who spoke to The Hope Metro, said the victim, Tope Akinbote, has been in the abductors’ captivity for 12 days now.
Speaking on behalf of the Ogungbamila’s Billy in Mahin Ward, under Mahin kingdom in Ilaje local government, he called on the Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, and all the security agencies in Ondo State to come to their assistance in getting their daughter out of the kidnappers’ den.
Recall The Hope Metro had reported that the kidnappers had earlier commuicated the family, demanding N600million ransom to secure the release of the victim.
Mr Owobo Ogungbamila said:”Today ((Tuesday) makes 12 days that our daughter was kidnapped.
“She was kidnapped on Friday February 9, 2024 at a petrol filling station, in Gbabijo, where she worked as a Sales Representative.
“The unknown gunmen came in a speed boat of double 200HP and kidnapped the girl away. And since then, this young lady was nowhere to be found.
“We also want to assure the general public that anybody with useful information that can lead to the recovery of this girl shall be rewarded.”
The family source said the kidnappers are now insisting on Two Hundred Million Naira (N200,000,000) before she would be released.
But as at the time of filing this report, a security agency source revealed that the abductors are now demanding N100million.
