Farmer, 27, docked for assault

A 27-year-old man, Emmanuel Agbor, has been arraigned before an Akure Magistrate Court over alleged assault.
The police charged the defendant who claims to be a farmer, with one count of assault.
The prosecutor, Inspector B.E. Eleng, informed the court that the defendant committed the offence on September 27, 2023 at Idanre road, Akure.
Eleng told the court that Agbor assaulted one Mr. Femi Oluwole, by hitting a shovel on his head which resulted to injury and landed him in the hospital.
According to the prosecutor, the offence contravaned Section 315 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ondo, 2006.
But Agbor pleaded not guilty to the offence levelled against him.
The defence counsel, Oluwabunmi Olonimoyo, prayed the court for the bail of the defendant in most liberal terms.
Magistrate Damilola Sekoni, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case till December 1, 2023, for hearing.
