Farmer docked for allegedly stealing phones

An Ondo Magistrates’ Court sitting in Okitipupa has remanded a farmer, Obama Obasola, in Okitipupa prison for allegedly stealing cell phones and money .
The prosecutor, Insp. Ayodeji Omoyegha told the court that the accused committed the offence on April 6, 2018 at about 05:30am at Apata street, Okitipupa.
Omoyegha informed the court that the accused entered into the room of one Mr. Samson Iluyemi with intention to commit felony, which contravened section 390 of the Criminal Code Cap 37, Vol,1 Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria 2006.
According to him, the defendant stole one Android Tecno K7 phone valued at N34,000 and N35,000 total valued at N69,000, property of one Mr. Samson Iluyemi.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the three- count charges.
His counsel, Barrister. O. Ajele, applied for the bail of the accused in most liberal terms, with the promise that his client would not jump bail.
The presiding magistrate, Mr D. O Ogunfuyi, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum, adding that the sureties must be responsible and reasonable citizen that reside within the jurisdiction of the court . Ogunfuyi adjourned the case till July 17, 2019 for continuation of trial.
