Farmer stabs friend to death over ₦2,000 in Ondo

Pandemonium broke out in the Iwofun area of Odigbo Local Government Area, Ondo State, as a farmer identified as Monday allegedly stabbed his friend, fondly called Aboki, to death.
The incident, which occurred early on Friday, caused panic among residents in the area when our correspondent visited.
Some residents who spoke with our correspondent narrated that both the culprit and the deceased had an argument over N7,000.
“Monday owed the deceased N7,000, and an argument started on Wednesday when the deceased asked about his money. They fought, and we were attracted to the scene to settle the matter.
“In the process, Monday paid a total amount of N5,000 to the deceased, leaving a balance of N2,000. The deceased then asked his friend about the remaining balance. That was how the argument started, and Monday stabbed him to death.”
Our correspondent, who visited the scene, gathered that the culprit was arrested by the police in Odigbo.
