The Ondo State Agric Inputs Supply Agency has called on farmers to embrace technology as well as innovations to boost agro-production.
Zonal Official of the agency, South Senatorial district, Mr. Akinfolarin Oyewole made the call during a sensitization programme in Ore.
He said the agency is a company that handles all sales of government subsidized agro inputs within the state and disseminate information to farmers on the use of agro pesticides.
Oyewole said the use of advanced technology helps increase crop yields across the continent, a development he said would help reduce imported foodstuffs.
He added that the state government will continue to put in place programmes and policies that would benefit farmers in the state.
“I want to advise the farmers to embrace new farming techniques so as to increase their yields and they should follow the instructions on agro chemical, pesticides in particular.
“Farmers should be free to access our offices across the state for any challenge being faced. Presently, agro chemical dealers in the state, especially south senatorial district should register with the agency for proper development.
“Our products are of high quality at subsidised rates. We are always ready to assist farmers when called upon; because of farmers we are born”, he stated.
He said the agency had been working tirelessly to make farming attractive to the people and make it economically rewarding to farmers.
