Faruk, aka Sazu, docked for alleged burglary, theft

A 29-year old man, Faruk Rasheed, also known as Sazu, has been arraigned before an Ondo Magistrate Court for alleged conspiracy, burglary, and theft.
The Ondo State Police Command charged the defendant and others at large with three counts bothering burglary and theft.
According to the prosecution, led by Inspector Akao Moremi, the accused and his accomplices, who were yet to be apprehended, allegedly committed the offence on March 15, 2025, at about 2:30 a.m., in the Sabo Market area of Ondo.
Faruk was accused of breaking into the dwelling of one Abdulsalam Tahie and stealing an iPhone XR valued at N400,000, a cross bag worth N8,000, 10.6kg of gold chain valued at N1,123,600, and a cash sum of N53,000, all belonging to Abdulsalam Tahie.
The prosecution stated that the alleged offences contravened Sections 516, 411(1)(2), and 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Cap 37, Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty.
Magistrate Ikujuyi granted the defendant bail in the sum of N3 million, with a responsible surety in like sum.
The case was adjourned till May 13, 2025 for further hearing.
