Fasoranti @ 99: Diaspora Community says he’s a defender of the masses

The Coordinator of Ondo State Youths in Diaspora (OSYiD), Amb Gbenga Olukayode (Esq.), popularly known as Don Pedro,
has congratulated the National Leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, on the occasion of his 99th birthday.

Olukayode, in a statement issued in the United Kingdom described the elder statesman as a fearless and principled leader who has consistently remained on the side of the people, even at critical moments when silence would have been more comfortable.

He noted that Pa Fasoranti’s voice had become a rallying point for the Yoruba nation and a moral compass for the country, adding that his unwavering stance for justice, equity and truth had set him apart as one of Nigeria’s most respected statesmen.

“Pa Fasoranti is not just a man, he is a living legacy. His life has been one of discipline, courage and selfless service to the masses. Despite the odds, Baba has always stood firmly with the people. His convictions have remained unshaken even in turbulent times,” Olukayode said.

While commending Fasoranti for sustaining the progressive ideals of the late Pa Abraham Adesanya, the youth leader said the Afenifere leader had preserved the vision of Yoruba unity and democratic development championed by past heroes.

According to him, “It is no exaggeration to say that Baba Fasoranti has faithfully walked in the footsteps of Pa Abraham Adesanya. He has borne the mantle of leadership with honour, dignity and ideological clarity. Under his guidance, the voice of the Yoruba people has remained relevant in the national discourse.”

“As Baba marks 99 years on earth, we do not only celebrate his age, we honour a lifetime of purpose, integrity and patriotism. We salute his efforts and sacrifices that have continued to shape our collective future,” Olukayode stated.

The youth leader also expressed optimism that the country would be privileged to celebrate Pa Fasoranti’s centenary birthday next year, praying for continued strength and sound health for the nonagenarian.
