Fasoranti daughter’s murder: Police arrest driver, other

Two persons including a driver are now helping detectives to unravel the puzzle sorrounding the death of the daughter of Afenifere leader, Mrs Funke Olakunori.

Mrs Olakunori, 58, a lawyer was gruesomely murdered on Friday July 12 by yet to be identified killers on her way to Lagos.

The duo whose identifies have not been made public may provide the necessary tips needed by the police to unmask the killers of Mrs Olakunori.

Reliable sources said the driver who witnessed the tragic incident had not been found until last week when he suddenly resurfaced and made a telephone contact with a supervisor of a security firm in Akure.

The Supervisor (names withheld) was promptly arrested by detectives monitoring the phone of the driver after several days of keeping surveillance on his movement.

The driver and his supervisor are reportedly being grilled by detectives in a bid to find the killers of the Afenifere leader’s daughter which occurred along Ore Shagamu Express Way.

The Hope learnt that the driver claimed that he was abducted by the killers of Mrs Olakunori and kept in their custody with others abducted during the incident.

All efforts to confirm the story was unsuccessful as Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Femi Joseph claimed ignorance of such arrest, adding that those investigating the matter are from the Force Headquarters, Abuja and he could not speak for them.
