A Model is a person with a role either to promote, display or advertise goods considered to be different from others. Queen Kimberly is a model. She shared her experience and how she started with Friday Extravaganza.

What is your name and your modeling name?

My name is Oni Damilola popularly called Queen Kimberly.

How old are you?

I was born June 22, 1998

Why did you choose to be a model?

The first thing sincerely was my height and then passion. I watched fashion shows and I fell in love with what I saw.

Who is your role model and why?

Agbani Darego has been my role model right from time. The first Nigerian to win Miss World in 2001.

Tell us your experience as a model so far?

It has been a great. I have no regret taking the decision or following my passion. My challenges sometimes are finance and lack of sponsors while the benefits have been exposure, meeting new people, empowerment on skill acquisition, training on etiquette and the  prizes  have won.

What are your goals as a model?

I see my modeling career taking me places to where I  never thought of.

What is your greatest strength as a model and your weakness?

My greatest strength is my determination to achieve success with God being on my side. My weakness is the fear of failing.

Do you have a limitation as a model?

Everyone does have a limitation, mine is finance.

Why are you into pageant?

I love competition, it makes me know my strength but I can’t compete for love. I meet new people too with exposure.

How has it been being Miss Ekiti 2018?

Queen of Ekiti 2018! I really can’t wait to have a successor. It is a platform where you can give back to the society. I am an humanitarian. It has been great, it gives me the biggest platform ever.

What are some of your accomplishments so far with the crown?

I have been to places where I really could not go as a normal girl. My crowning itself  will forever be in history.

Tell us about your education and how you’ve been coping with studies alongside pageantry?

I am a 300 level student of Plant Science and Biotechnology in Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State. Sincerely it has not been easy. My department is discouraging because it seems tough and needs 99.9 percent effort. I just try to cope, I read and attend classes.

What do you do to keep in shape?

I don’t know! I don’t work out or anything, it’s God’s doing. He is my instructor.

What improvement or impact has it made to your modeling career ?

At least the little fame is helping. When I need to pull up vote, I get a lot of turn up from people.

What are some of your accomplishments as a model?

I have done a project and I am planning another.

How has been the experience so far in general?

My experience as a model has helped me built myself character-wise and be a better version of myself.

Where do you see yourself in the next fiveyears?

I would have been married by His grace, I just want to be known, living my best life and happy.

What’s your advice for aspiring models?

They should pray, be persistent and hardworking because they’ll be faced with lot of challenges.
