FECA football competition ends abruptly

FECA football competition ends abruptly

By  Johnson Balogun
It was a free for all as Federal College of Agriculture Akure (FECA) 2019 Provost Football Competition ended abruptly.

The competition was part of the activities marking the 2019 SUG Week of the institution which was aimed at fostering unity among the students.

The students however turned the football pitch  into a battle ground as they were engaged in physical brawl in the second half of the final match between Agric Extension and Animal Health Department which marked the premature end of the competition.

The first half of the competition had ended in a barren draw before the President of the institution’s Student Union Government (SUG) Comrade Omotosho Surprise Oluwaferanmi, who featured  for Animal Health in the match  was sent off by the center referee for alleged  unprofessional behavior towards one of the lines man in the 58th minute.

This angered the Animal Health department supporters who invaded the pitch in protest against the referee’s decision.
