FECA students mourn colleague

Students of the Federal College of Agriculture (FECA) in Ondo State took to the streets and obstructed traffic in the Akure metropolis on Sunday to pay their last respect to the Vice President of the students union, Oluwaseun Akinribido.
Late Akinribido, a 26-year-old, who reportedly died on Saturday, during a brief illness, was said to be a native of Erinje in Okitipupa Local Government Area of the state.
The Hope Metro gathered that, the students came out in their large numbers to pay their last respect to Akinribido who was an HND two student of Agriculture Institute of Management Department.
At about 8.45pm on Sunday the students, dressed in black were with eyes filled with tears, blocked both lanes of Fasoranti road Ijapo for over 45 minutes.
With candle light in their hands, they recounted how Akinribido had touched their lives in various ways.
Speaking at the event, the Students Union President, Mr Surprise Omotosho said, ” It is unfortunate we lost our colleague .
“He only complained of headache while we advised him to go home to rest because it was becoming too reoccurring. We placed a call three days after and his younger brother answered and told us he was gone.”
Omotosho, who described Akinribido as a vibrant leader said he stood for all, saying he had made a template for himself in the school by being the first to restore the union back when it was down, stating that he will be greatly missed.
Also speaking on frequent death cases in the school, the Students Union President described death as a natural occurrence that cannot be hindered.
He disclosed that the school has a standard Medical Centre.
