Federation Cup tie against Edo Queens good for our championship – Sunshine Queens Coach

The head coach of Sunshine Queens , Oladimeji Abimbola has disclosed that Federation Cup tie with Edo Queens will be a good test for his side ahead of the upcoming championship.

He said both teams are big names in the Nigeria Women Football, saying his team is battle ready for the encounter.

Abimbola in a chat with Sporting Hope at the team’s training ground in Akure, the state capital, said the game against Edo Queens is a welcome development which will serve as a good preparation for his team ahead of Championship.

He added that his team will put in their best to get a positive result against NWFL super six bound in the Federation Cup.

He added: I’m not under any pressure to play against them, it’s a game of same numbers , we have the players with the right attitude to the job”.

“I’m confident that my players will upset their Edo counterparts, they are normal team like others , nothing spectacular about them.

“Sunshine Queens are big team, with the support of the management led by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr. Bamidele Ologunloluwa we are going to come out victorious in the encounter.”

“We have a team that can match Edo Queens in all areas, we have built a strong team with injection of fresh blood blended with experienced players.”

The Captain of Sunshine Queens, Taiwo Ajibade added that they are ready to face the challenge, saying it’s an opportunity her and other players to practicalise the training their coaches have impacted on them.

She said that her teammates are hungry for competitive match since, adding that they are going to approach the game with all determination to come out victorious against their opponent.

“We received the news of the fixtures against Edo Queens with pleasure, we are in good shape and we have what it takes to do better in against them.”

“Our camp has been bubbling since the news broke out, that we are playing against Edo Queens.”
