Fire razes shops in Ore, Ibadan

Goods and property worth millions of naira were destroyed in an early morning fire incident that razed an entire building in Ore, the headquarters of Odigbo Local Government.
The incident occurred at the early hours of Sunday opposite madam sawmill in Ore .
The Hope Metro gathered that the razed building has boutique, barbing salon, tailor shop and gas outlet attached to it.
Eyewitnesses who spoke with our correspondent recounts that the fire outbreak was caused by power surge.
“The moment there was power supply around 6am, a spark from a wall socket from one of the shops led to the fire outbreak,”he said.
Our correspondent who visited the scene gathered that the shop owners whose goods were razed down by the inferno, lamented their losses.
They, however called on the state government to come to thier aid as their only source of livelihood have been razed down by fire.
Meanwhile, officials of Water Corporation in the state, were on the ground to put out the fire while filing this report.
In a similar fire incident, goods worth millions of naira were lost to overnight inferno that occurred at Sango market in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
The inferno, which was caused by electric spark, burnt over 20 shops in the market.
This is coming a few days after a similar incident happened at Ire Akari Estate, Soka, Ibadan.
Reports had it that some shop owners affected by the incident expressed their challenges in rebuilding their shops and businesses, emphasizing that these ventures are their sole sources of livelihood.
Market traders conveyed their shock at the extensive damage caused by the fire, describing the calamity as overwhelming.
