First tenure: Akeredolu fulfills party policy -Adetimehin

The first tenure of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has been described as an administration with focus and vision in fulfilling the All Progressives Congress, APC, programme for the development of the state.
The Acting State Chairman of Executive Committee of the party, Mr. Ade Adetimehin, who disclosed this in an interview with The Hope said the governor in the last four years of his first tenure has successfully enhanced the existing relationship with the party in implementing its policy and agreement.
According to him, the governor has been able to put smile on the faces of party members through the better patronage of the party in term of empowerment and creation of job opportunities for the children of the members and the party’s youths.
He explained that his (governor) mission in turning the face of the state around has made it a place for investment and economic growth through the implementation of the five cardinal points of his administration in the last four years.
Adetimehin noted that the cardinal programme which include job creation through agriculture, entrepreneurship and industrialisation; massive infrastructure development and maintenance; provision of functional education and technological growth; provision of accessible and quantitative health care and social service and rural development community extension services have opened the state to employment and economic opportunities for youths.
He added that the 18 Local Government areas in the state are more linked to each other than ever to improve economy of the state.
His words ” In terms of performance Arakunrin Akeredolu has done well. We have five cardinal points of our party, which he has virtually touched all of them and fulfilled his campaign promises.
“Talking about performance in the area of infrastructure he has excelled more than the previous governors that have ruled the state”
In road construction, the governor, he said has virtually constructed roads in all the 18 councils in the state, which include completed 16.4km road construction in ldanre, dualization of Oba Osupa road; construction of Oke-Ogba and Gaga road in Oke-Aro in Akure, the State capital.
He added that he also constructed Oke Alabojuto road in lkare; road in Owo and 7.5km road construction in lfon, headquarters of Ose Local Government area of the state.
In education sector, he pointed out that there is massive renovation and construction of schools that has made the state to witness more capital projects in other to bridge the infrastructural gap between the children of poor and rich in various schools in the state.
Also in health care, he said the governor has successfully built ultra-modern hospital in lfon and renovated and equipped primary health care with health facilities as well as recruitment of medical personnel that surpassed his predecessors since the creation of the state.
He, however, said that the governor would continue with the laid down foundation in second term to perform more than he has done in the first term in office.
Adetimehin expressed optimism that the governor would concentrate on the construction of Deep Seaport Project in the state in ensuring that the project sees the light of the day.
