Five docked for posting nude video of woman on social media

Five men have been arraigned before an Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court for allegedly posting the nude video of a woman on social media.
The accused persons are; Jimoh Oloja, 52; Olawale Omowunmi, 40; Orosola Bolanle, 26; Olubunmi Adedayo, 39 and Isiah Olaniyi, 22.
The Prosecutor, ASP Joseph Adebayo, told the court that the accused persons committed the offence in January 30, 2021 around 5:00 pm at Parakin Area, Ile-Ife.
Adebayo said that the accused persons conspired to commit the offences bothering on indecent assault; assault occasioning harm, defamation of character and conduct likely to cause breach of public peace.
He added that the accused persons unlawfully and indecently assaulted a woman, Elizabeth Oloyede, while video recording her.
They were said to have stripped her naked and hit her with fist blows and sticks, while they caused her harm on her private parts.
The Prosecutor stated further that they intended to injure the reputation of Elizabeth by posting on social media, a video record of her nakedness which exposed her to hatred, ridicule or damage to her profession and reputation.
The accused persons, pleaded not guilty.
The defence counsel, Mr Adetise Adeyeni and Mr J. O. Amole, applied for the bail of the accused persons in most liberal term, promising that their clients would not jump bail.
Magistrate Abiona Adebayo granted the bail of the accused persons in the sum of N500,000 with one surety each in like sum.
He adjourned the case till April 22 for hearing.
