In its determination to ensure that thuggery and hooliganism are checkmated ahead of Saturday’s State House of Assembly elections in Ondo state, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Undie Adie, has directed his men to raid every nook and cranny and flush out criminals from their hideouts.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Femi Joseph, who disclosed this to The Hope Metro said the police boss has mandated all the Divisional Police officers (DPOs), to raid all identified criminal hideouts in their various jurisdictions.
He said the directive became necessary to check every form of thuggery before, during and after the elections, adding that the police have mapped out adequate security measures that will guarantee the safety of lives and property of every citizen.
Joseph, who said the police are working collaboratively with other sister security agencies in the state, warned those who might try to test the powers of the police to have a rethink or be ready to face the full weight of the law.
He posited that the command will repeat the achievements it made in the last Presidential and National Assembly elections.
According to him, the police boss had charged all policemen that would be on duties on Saturday to do what is expected of them, especially in area of protecting electoral materials.
He, therefore, advised the general public to always assist the police with useful information that would help solve crime related issues, just as he urged all law-abiding citizens to go about their lawful and legitimate duties unmolested.
